Jesus calls his followers to a life of mercy and compassion. There are many ways to show compassion and respect for animals, including actions as simple as putting a bumper sticker on your car, wearing a button, or writing a letter (to your local or church paper), all of which are valuable ways to show your support for animal protection, but which require little effort.

The best thing you can do to stop animal suffering is to adopt a humane and healthy vegetarian diet, decide not to wear leather and fur, choose to use only products from companies which do not test their products on animals, and avoid circuses, zoos, and other activities which exploit or abuse animals.

You can also pray about your own involvement in animal suffering, pray for animal welfare and a societal conversion, join an animal welfare group in your community, or organize an educational program at your church. The possibilities are limitless.

To learn more about all of these issues and things you can do to help, check out the PETA web page at www.peta.org, email us, or call us at 757-622-PETA.
